What is Individual Therapy?
Individual Therapy also knowns as counseling, talk therapy or psychotherapy is a process designed to help you understand yourself better and navigate life's challenges. In this case we will be addressing the trauma and/or anxiety in depth, going beyond just coping skills. It’s a safe, confidential space where we work together to explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that may be affecting your well-being. I offer a grounded, collaborative path to reclaim your peace, navigate your loss with compassion, and build a future free from the shadow of the past.
I use approaches like EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and attachment-based therapy to help you process past experiences, understand patterns that keep showing up in your life, and create new ways of relating to yourself and others. I also have experience offering neurodivergent-informed care for those who have ADHD or different ways of thinking and processing, and we adapt therapy so it actually works for you.
What to Expect from Therapy?
Initially, we'll work together to identify your goals and what you'd like to achieve. Over time, you'll learn new coping skills, gain insight into your patterns, and develop strategies to manage challenges. Opening up and being vulnerable can bring up feelings of nervousness, uncomfortable, “weirdness”….but don’t worry I will be guiding you through the process and in the meantime building a safe and trustworthy therapeutic relationship.
