You don’t have to translate your family, your culture, or the complicated feelings that can come with both pride and pressure. Those parts of your story are welcome here.

Growing up first-generation often means learning how to live in more than one world at the same time. The expectations, the responsibility, the pressure to succeed, the love for your family, and sometimes the quiet guilt that comes with wanting something different for yourself.

Because I share that cultural experience as a first-generation, bilingual Mexican-American, many clients say something similar early on: It’s nice not having to explain everything”. You don’t have to educate me on your family dynamics, your cultural values, or the mix of pride and pressure that often comes with being first-generation. Those parts of your story are understood here.

I believe therapy should feel real. That means warmth, honesty, sometimes laughter, and conversations that help you see yourself and your life with more clarity and compassion. I’ll support you, and when needed, gently challenge you so you can move toward the life you actually want. Because you didn’t come this far to stay stuck.

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) for eight years, trained in EMDR and experienced in CBT, providing trauma-informed, culturally responsive care for individuals across California. It would be an honor to witness your growth and guide your healing.
